The convergence of media online has transformed public relations into a new breed. These days you need this hybrid of PR – that blends traditional practices with optimized campaigns and Web 2.0 promotions in order to maximize visibility for your company.

Traditional public relations is represented by the human-half of the Centaur. Mental strategy is needed in standard PR campaigns to understand how the news supports industry trends and why it is important to the audience of specific publications.

Seeing an article on your company in the business journal, the local daily, or an industry trade journal will have a powerful impact on your customers. They will understand that your business has achieved newsworthy accomplishments and that your company‘s expert opinion is a valued contribution to industry news and trends. Unlike biased advertising, the third party validation received with traditional public relations translates into credibility and trust for your company.

Optimized public relations is aptly represented by the animal-half of the Centaur. In order for news to gain visibility on the Web, a release needs the horsepower of optimized keywords that are picked-up by search engines and RSS feeds. In this way, the release will appear in Google and Yahoo search results and often will be seen and shared by thousands online.

Unless you have a rare company that is totally promoted through business and personal referrals, your customers (and even the media) are going to evaluate your company, its news and business accomplishments via your web presence. Also, they will find it more difficult to locate your site online unless it appears in the first few pages of Google results.

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch states that companies that understand the changes that have occurred in the media and communications industry, adapt their strategies accordingly, and embrace the new technologies will be the companies that succeed.

Today’s breed of public relations combines brain and brawn – the strategy of traditional PR with the power of optimized PR. These hybrid campaigns offer the capabilities required to promote your business to customers and reporters in the real world and on the Web.

-Hispanic marketing agency taps PR firm to represent them nationally-

Austin, Texas, Sept. 24, 2008 — Accolades PR, a results-oriented communications firm committed to progressive strategies in public relations and marketing, announced today that it has been named to represent Mercury Mambo, a nationally recognized Hispanic Marketing firm. Through experiential marketing and sales promotions, Mercury Mambo has developed a proven track record of delivering results for some of America’s most respected retail brands such as U.S. Cellular, Carl’s Jr., America Online, Seven Up, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Crown Royal, Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc., Michelob and Smuckers.

Mercury Mambo creates memorable brand experiences by reaching consumers at the point where commerce and culture collide™. With Mambo flair and a focus on the sustainable ROI of Hispanic sales, the agency delivers local and national Hispanic market expertise.

“Mercury Mambo offers a rare combination of savvy marketing skills combined with creative spark that ignites their retailtainment and experiential marketing events, states Cynthia Baker, President & Founder of Accolades PR. “We highly respect their talented team and diverse capabilities.”

Most recently, Mercury Mambo has acquired US Cellular and the fast-food chain Carl’s Jr. Carl’s Jr. is looking to Mercury Mambo to handle their branding to the general audience in Texas, not just the Hispanic audience.

The agency also was just named to Inc. Magazine’s 2008 Top 5000 list of fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. With a 312 percent revenue growth in the last three years, Mercury Mambo was featured in the top 25 percent of the list coming in at number 1,216. Mercury Mambo was also ranked number 29 in the Top 50 Businesses in Austin & Round Rock, Texas.

“Mambo’s mission initially was to provide solutions that are as culturally relevant as they are unforgettable,” commented Liz Arreaga, Co-founder of Mercury Mambo. “However, now many of our clients are convinced of our ability to brand on-point with key audiences and Texas marketing has become a new specialty for Mambo.”

Accolades Public Relations will build national awareness of the firm’s expertise and assist the firm with its social media strategies. Accolades will also develop strategic alliances with partners that will benefit from the agency’s knowledge and proficiency with Hispanic marketing trends.

Austin PR Firm Launches Web 2.0 Communications site
Blending social media with traditional public relations

Austin, Texas – June 17, 2008 – Austin-based Accolades PR, a results-oriented communications firm committed to progressive strategies in public relations and marketing communications, announced today the launch of its new Web site with PR 2.0 capabilities, including a social media newsroom. Accolades Public Relations utilizes Web 2.0 tools to offer a new kind of PR firm where clients’ needs drive solutions – whether in media exposure or Web visibility.

The experienced team practices a blend of traditional public relations along with optimized PR and social media. When search engine tactics are properly applied to press releases, they often appear in top Google News, AOL News and Yahoo! News search results for about a month. Such Web visibility leverages traditional public relations efforts for more traffic and online visibility.

“The world of public relations is evolving,” states Cynthia Baker, President of Accolades PR. “More journalists are searching for their news online. Traditional public relations efforts are still the foundation of a strong public campaign, but social media and search engine optimized PR should be considered as part of the solution when a client’s goals are first analyzed.”

Recently a report from Outsell stated that press releases have leapfrogged over trade publications to become the top news source of knowledge workers. The implication for both business-to-business and consumer public relations clients is to provide a full press kit on the corporate Web site for journalists and to use the forces of search engine optimization (SEO) to extend the life of a press release on the Web.

“Our strategies are based on determining the mix of publicity that will best provide exposure for our clients,” adds Baker. “We target national and regional business publications, trade publications as well as digital media – the balance is key for many clients.”

The agency currently represents interactive marketing, advertising, insurance, franchise, and financial clients. The mission of Accolades is to set the standard in what carefully executed pubic relations and communication strategies can do for sales, lead generation and the bottom line of ROI.
